Hello.
Treatment will depend on the cause of this hyperpigmentation. It can be due to melasma or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Melasma is caused by hormonal changes, which stimulate a temporary increase in your body's production of melanin. People with darker complexions are more prone to this condition than people with lighter skin.
Treatment options include treatment with vitamin C and hydrocortisone, peel with carbon dioxide snow and alexandrite and ND-Yag Q-Switched laser treatment preceded by a hydroquinone-based application. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
The dark thin line which look like a mustache was there even before i start the laser treatment. Just a small line, What are the treatments available?
Thanks
Hello,
Since you are having laser treatment sittings for the hair growth on upper lip, it can be hyperpigmentation as a result of side effect of the laser treatment also. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist and get this possibility evaluated.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.
