Vagina bleding after running

Hi I'm 45 years old in excellent health a runner for many years, lately I have notice blood after my runs. There is no pain after the runs or any indications that will make me stop when I'm running. The blood is between bright red and brown. What could cause this??

Sorry, I was thinking "male' here.  Brown blood is leftover blood from your last period and is nothing to worry about.  The bright red would concern me, and I would contact your OB-GYN regarding this.  It could be a vaginal polyp which do bleed, and he/she can remove it very easily during the exam.  Sorry about the confusion.

Red is fresh blood which means it comes from the rectum area, normally due to a hemorrhoid.  Brown is old blood.  We normally have to start getting routine colonoscopies at 50, and you're real close to this.  I would see a GI for evaluation, to make sure everything is okay.  It may just be a small polyp, or a hemorrhoid, but you need to know for sure.  I seriously doubt that it's serious, but why take the chance, and you would be heading off something before it does becomes serious.  It sounds like you're very proactive with your health, and this is just another step in that process.  Take care...
