Upper abdonimal pain and upper back pain

I have GERD and I am currently under medication. 40mg Nexium twice a day (am/pm). I don't know if it is working or not. I usually feel the pain hours after eating lunch... around 3PM onwards. The pain radiates to my back and I have no idea why it does. My stomach feels like burning. and it's super painful I almost always cry, trying to put myself to sleep just to forget about the pain.

I underwent ultrasound last year for my abdomen but there were no findings. Should I undergo ultrasound again? I feel like my mom is doubtful of me undergoing ultrasound again or endoscopy. She told me that I just have to take the pain for it's just natural and it will really take time for the meds to take effect. I'm having a hard time dealing with the pain. it's like i've been drinking bottles of tequila nonstop. please help me.

Can i take pain relievers?

Thanks for the advice. I feel better now after the doctor gave me the max. dosage for Nexium, but the thing is i'm starting to have headaches, one of the side effects i guess? The abdominal pain lessened, but the back pain still persists. I'm not that sure though if it's because of any internal organ malfunction. It may be because of the strain, coz i've been sleeping with 3 pillows for support just so to prevent reflux at night. I'm still bothered. I want to feel perfectly good again.

You may suggest getting a pipida scan for your gallbladder. Is the pain located below your right shoulder blade? There is a large chance you dont have gallstones, but that your gallbladder may be malfunctioning. In these situations, be your own advocate! That is VITAL. Doctors may ride it off, but you have to fight. I had similar symptoms and a gut feeling that something was wrong. When a nurse practitioner finally decided they should remove my gallbladder as a last ditch effort, they found chronic inflammation in the pathology as well as evidence that it hadn't been functioning correctly for months. You have to fight for yourself! Living in pain is NO way to live.

This sounds like more than GERD and you should have the endoscopy done right away. Plus, it may be gallbladder related since it is going into your back.  The Nexium isn't working for you, it often doesn't.  Get back to the doctor and find out exactly what is going on.  Leave the Tequila alone, that alone will burn a hole in your stomach!
