unexplained lower right back pain

I have a strange pain in my lower right back that no one can seem to explain.  It it always in the same spot and feels like a deep pain.  Its not in my joints or in my muscles.  I can not bend backwards at all without a very sharp pain that almost feels like it goes through every bone in my body.  I will wake up with severe spasms going up the right side of my back, around my side and shooting pain going down my leg and can feel it in my knee joint at times.  Pressure on the spot does not irritate it.  Standing for long periods, laying in some positions, repeditive motion bending and twisting severly increase my pain.  The doctors have done a full body bone scan, blood work, mri, x-rays, physical theropy, injections and manipulation but they say I look perfectly healthy and can not explain it nor can I get any relief from any of the already mentioned.  This has been going on for five years now and frustrates me so much.  Any ideas or experiences with this?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The way you explain the pain, it is very suggestive of sciatica. I understand you have gone through MRI (of lumbo-scaral spine) and physical therapy. I still feel probably you should ask for nerve conduction studies to rule out this. Please discuss this with a neurologist.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I had a severe case of sciatica a couple years ago just like what you are describing. Finally got a prescription for an anti spasmotic and an anti inflammatory and went to the chiropractor. He stated it was my sacroiliac joint. He snapped it back, what a relief instantly got the feeling back in my leg. I noticed too that certain shoes will irritate my back. They may look great but still be worn out or just the wrong shoe. Good sneakers are the best.No cheap stuff or really flat shoes.
