Long Term Dizziness

by goniners, Apr 15, 2007 12:00AM
In February of 2006, I had slight dizziness/vertigo, cloudy headedness on and off for a week.  It then became constant.  At times my ears felt plugged too.  It lasted for about three months, went away for several weeks and then came back.  It has been with me ever since.  Some days it's barely noticeable.  Other days, its really noticeable.  My GP gave me all kinds of tests and sent me to an ENT.  MRI of my head/sinus - normal except for a sinus polyp. ENT - balance tests all normal. Eyes checked - slight astigmatism, otherwise normal.  Blood work all normal except for high cholesterol.  I have slightly high blood pressure.  I was put on blood pressure meds three weeks ago.  Since then, the dizziness/foggy head feeling is almost constant, except when I'm sitting down watching TV.  If I'm sitting at the computer, I feel it.  When I lying down I don't feel anything.  Upon waking up in the morning, I'm fine for about the first five or ten minutes, then I start to feel dizzy/foggy headed.  It's not bad enough that I can't drive (except for one or two days about 9 months ago).  Any ideas or suggestions as to what to do next or possible causes?

I believe I have the same thing!  It started a couple years ago so I asked an internal medicine doctor and he said it may last a month.  It was so bad I couldn't get out of bed for a couple days, so I took dramamine.  After about a month, it was gone, but then it came back the next year around the same time.  This time, it has been more than a month, and it still persists, but not as strong and not all the time.  I'm dizzy as I write this though.  Hope you have found something about this.  Thanks.
