Burning in my Fingers, Wrists, Elbows

by chefrachel, Apr 24, 2007 12:00AM
I have had burning in my fingers, wrists, elbows of both hands since 03/16/07. I have been to an Orthopedic who said I have loose ligaments and that this causes me to hyper-extend my little finger on both hands. He said this is perfectly normal and my problem is an occupational disease and that as long as I continue to type, use a mouse, talk on the phone, write or due pretty much anything my pain will never go away. I went to my Family doctor who said this is not normal and does not agree with the Orthopedic that my pain is normal.

I do not have a Thyroid as it was removed in 1996 due to Papilary Thyroid Cancer. I currently take Levoxyl 125 M-S and Levoxyl 137 Sunday only. The other meds I take are Zyrtec 10 mg, and Pravastain 40.

I have had the Serum Glucose amd HC1A test and both were normal. I had an EMG today and it was normal. I am having a Cervical Spine MRI this coming Friday morning.

I have had elevated hematocrit and hemoglobin levels previously. I was just re-tested and they are find and the doc did some additional tests and they were all normal.

Is there some other problem that could be causing the burning in my fingers, wrists?

I took Zyrtec and I suffered with joint pain and burning in my wrist and knees.  Stop the Zyrtec and see if it goes away

Hello.

This appears to be a joint inflammation. You could ask the doctor about a trial of anti-inflammatory drugs.

Cervical MRI is being done to rule out any nerve compression. If a nerve is compressed, the burning will be observed in the areas supplied by the nerve. You have the burning sensation in the joints only.

Did you have any neck injury ?

Regards
