Ivf

I have read some the posting from others and now am very sad cause i two am going to use my own eggs, and my age is very much a factor. although i did have a respones to iui back in dec, but nothing came of it.  I wonder if me and my husband are taking the right path. Since this is very costly, and we so much want our own. I have had the response of a younger lady, but no luck. with iui. I am very healthy, and I am wishing and saying a prayer every day that this works. From what I have read so far, is very dis couraging.. Is there any one that has had a postive respones to ivf.

I feel your pain...I am not sure what to do..I believe we can have children at our age.  I believe the problem is it takes many tries and we don't qualify for insurance due to our age nor do we qualify for the attain program, so unless you have 50,000 for multiple tries i feel its hard. At least with the attain program you have 6 tries 3 fresh and 3 frozen. I thought going into this that my eggs would work. I made 20 follicles, fertilized 18, in the end I had 11, we transferred 3 and got to freeze 7. So when i got my BFN i thought ok we have 7 great embies but not until my legs were on the table did they let me know i only had one...it was a 9Af which was better than the first 3 but BFN. So I wish I had the answers. I  pray for all of us everyday! I know some of us will get a BFP with their own eggs but can we take the chance?  I don't know..at this point I would love to use donor embies but DH wants a bio child. I know I will love whatever G-D will give me!  All my best to you and your DH...Never give up no matter what, there are many options out there for all of us!

Hello, don't know your age but presuming in 40's? I am 41 and had first ivf in April when still 40yrs, used own eggs , only produced 5 but we only had one put back anyway. It worked , had BFP but sadly miscarried 10 days later. We are now on the 2ww with our second ivf attempt and it will be the last as so costly, but again using my own eggs, only got 4 this time, and 2 fertilized but remember it only takes 1!! we had a 2 day transfer and the dr was pleased with cell division for  a short transfer. So i think if you can produce own eggs on the meds, go for it, my friend had twins, age 44, 1st ivf attempt, own eggs and another lady in my clinic had her first child age 43, a little girl and is now trying again at 45.best wishes lots love melissax

I have age factor and am using donor eggs I just wanted the best chance to have a happy healthy baby.  I think it is a personal decision that has to be made between you and your DH, but, also think it is an amazing gift and I know when my donor's eggs were fertilized, all 19 of them, I fell in love with each and everyone of them, and from that moment on, they have been mine!
