by godisgood123, May 11, 2007 12:00AM
i have a mass on my left kidney. i went to get a renal ultrasound and the report states that good vascular flow was demonstrated bilaterally. what does this mean? if mass is 5.0cmx4.0cm is that large?

Part of the renal scan is to assess the blood flow through the kidneys.  I assume this was what was referred to in the report.  So the mass on the kidney is not inside it or pushing on it.  This is good.

Did they measure the mass by an ultrasound?  It measures about 1 3/4" by about 2".  It's not huge.

Why were they looking at your kidneys in first place, if you don't mind sharing.?
