No Fever

by Katie0416, May 30, 2007 12:00AM
I am an eighteen year old female.  I have had no fever for about ten years now.  I have had medically diagnosed diseases that warrant a fever (mononucleosis, pneumonia, cold, flu, sinus infections, etc.).  I never have a fever with any of these. My normal body temp runs between 95 and 99 degrees.  I also think I might have an immune disease.  I always seem to be sick with something.  I get sick about ten times a year.  I noticed my being sick all the time happened around the same time as I was getting over mono.  I am not sure if that caused it, or was just a coincidence.  I am really puzzled by my lack of fever and cannot find much on the internet to help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Katie,
Look up info about Wilson's syndrome, and see if it fits.

http://www.wilsonssyndrome.com/Diagnosed.htm#Temp

From what I understand, a chronic low body temperature may be due to subclinical low thyroid function.
So if you run a fever, your temp would still be lower than normal.

Wishing you the best,
Carol
