What to do about facial angiofibromas

by Ambear, Jun 06, 2007 12:00AM
I have had many surgeries for facial angiofibromas caused by the genetic disorder Tuberous Sclerosis. I also have growths under my finger nails and toe nails. I was wondering if besides Laser Surgery which I have had 3 times in the past 6 years if there is any make up or cream I can use to cover up the Redness making my face appear more normal that what it does. I am currently having the growths from my toe nails and fingernails removed and because I have such a mild case of TS, I just the tumors on my face,a few in my scalp and one large one on my lower back. My facial angiofibromas are what bother me the most because I can't seem to keep them covered up and people can be cruel about the way I look. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

If you use makeup, try Dermablend to cover spots or use the foundation with cover cream.  I use both at times and it covers better than the other makeup products that I have tried.

I know exactly how you feel.  How are you having the tumors around your fingers and toes removed?  I recently went to the foot doctor and he will remove some on my big toe next Monday, he said that he will have to remove my toenail, I thought maybe you have a better answer. I to have been looking for makeup, I recently ordered some called sheer cover and it didn't work like I wanted it to.
