Could I have Friedreich's ataxia?

by terrics, Jun 06, 2007 12:00AM
I have had ataxia for at least 20 years. I went to a neurologist because I am now dropping things.

The doctor was very concerned about the ataxia and abnormal reflexes and thought that I may have Friedreich's ataxia.

The EMG showed carpal tunnel both wrists and an abnormality in the cervical area of my spine.

It seems that there is more than one thing going on.

Can an abnormality in the cervical spine cause severe ataxia?

I am going to have an MRI of my neck and brain.

BTW I doubt I have friedreich's
