What the heck do I have? Lyme disease? Arteritis? Lupus?

Otherwise, pretty healthy and feel good most of the time, but,
over the past few days, these symptoms have gotten worse, and may
last several hours.

To: ask a doctor forums
For the past six months, my hands have on a fairly regular basis, begun swelling...to the point that I can no longer get on my original wedding rings (size 5) and now must wear a size 7.  My hands get very puffed up and hurt..the turn a fiery red color when immersed in water; and they frequently go "numb" When they are in this condition, they are totally useless to me, as they also lose strength and become painful. Oddly enough, the joints themselves do  not appear to be malformed...just puffy. I suffer from hypothyroidism caused AFTER having my thyroid irradiated for being HYPERthyroid. I also have a sister who has Lupus. Can any of this be related. My doctor has done several blood tests, but all seem to be OK. I would appreciate some feedback from anyone who might suffer from this weird phenonema. My legs and feet DO NOT swell...although my face sometimes does. I also get horrible migraines, and I have noticed that sometimes the swelling and the migraines happen at the same time. Could the swelling be a pre-cursor of sorts of the impending and inevitable migraine? Thanks.
