Is it possible that hot flashes and not being able to loss weight can be side affects of surgery.

I had a kidney removed about 4 months ago and other than the discomfort from the huge cut they made these are new problems.Hot flashes(had my ovaries removed in 2001.)Can not seem to lose weight like I could before surgery.
