The last surgery I had was 2006. Fusion in my neck c-5,c6,c7. everything seamed to go fine. I've been tested so many times, and seen so many doctors. I just saw my Heart Dr. following my last hospitaliation. They said my heart was strong and nothing there to be concerned with. I just wish I knew who I could go to that could figure this out. 3 years of this is begining to wear on me. My pain level never gets better than a 3 or 4 and I have to have a life somewhere in there. My legs hurt as bad as my lower back and they swell from my knees to and include my feet. Its my mussels and my bones and sometimes, even my skin hurts to the touch. My MRI said L1-2 mild annular bulging of the disc.,L2-3 mild bulge is noted The thecal sac is flattened as isL3-4, L4-5. There is mild narrowing of L5 lateral recesses, with mild to moderate narrowing of the neural foramen. L5-S1 disc bulg is also seen. I don't even know what this means but I can tell you that my back hurts bad and limites my movement. Where do I go from here?

Thanks for your help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
An elevated D-dimer test apart from indicating a clot in the body could also be high due to recent surgery, trauma, infection, liver disease, pregnancy, eclampsia (both regnancy and eclampsia ruled out in your case), heart disease, and some cancers. An elevated D-dimer alone is not significant. It needs to be followed up with other tests. Liver diseases can cause clotting factor abnormalities. Since liver enzymes are raised this should be followed up first. An elevated ESR, low protein, minerals and iron in blood are some findings in Crohn’s that appear before the gut symptoms. Raised ESR, C-Reactive protein, increased WBC count, and raised anti streptolysin O titre confirms rheumatic heart disease.
Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!

Thanks so much for your response. I have tested positive ana 3 or 4 times he keeps telling me that it's a false positive. Mostly because he's looking for that rash on the face.
I went for a second opinion and I got the same thing in and out in about 10 min. with the same answer. I guess they don't want to step on anyone's toes. Well where do I go to find a rheumy thats going to take me serious!!! I live in Ann Arbor, MI. Are you close to that area? I feel like i'm dying slowly. It's all I can do to get out of bed. I stay in my PJ's all the time because it takes to much out of me to take a shower and get dressed. I even go to my pcp in my PJ's. She has been so helpful to me thru this. I get my pain meds from her so I can get thru my day. I take care of my 3 granddaughters ( 2,5 & 9) the one is in school all day but its all I can do to take care of the little ones all day.By the time they get picked up I'm about crying and go straight to bed!! I have no idea how I'm gonna make it thru Christmas. I really need to find a good rheumy fast, as I just don't know how much more I can take. Please! anyone please help me.

Thank-you so much,
Sunday

Gosh, all they have told you is this is fibromyalgia.... what planet are your doctors on.

Lupus anticoagulant positive= Antiphospolipid syndrome, this is a auto-immune blood disorder, which causes the blood to become sticky, and clot a lot easier, hence bloodclots.

D Dimer, is usually found when there is a clot in the system.

Positive ANA.

You need to find yourself a good rheumy, with a specialist interest in Lupus. APS.
preferably, so they can give you a full evaluation, and get you on the correct medication, to treat this wisely.

Sorry to hear you have been unwell for 3 years, but i can assure you this is not fibromyalgia.
I am not a doctor, but being a sufferer of APS-Lupus myself,
This bloodwork, needs someone who knows what they are doing to care for you.
I was in your position, left very poorly with no answers, until i found a specialist who knew how to look after me.

If a rheumy told you , you have fibromyalgia off this bloodwork , he needs shooting, i would run a mile and find someone who knows what they are doing.

If you need anymore help , im here
Take care
Nicola
