smelly urine

My urine has a strong odor to it. Kind of smells like a bathroom does when the toilets havent been flushed, old smelling. I don't eat asparagus and my diet hasnt really changed with the exception of more coffee and less soda.
I noticed the smell about a year ago and it hasn't went away. My health hasn't changed either. I am tired all the time and my menstral cycle has become a little more painful. Thats a whole other problem. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have the same problem and after about three months I went to see my urologist he checked me and told me there was an infection in the ducts of the urethra(?) didn't know they existed, anyway he has placed me on Flagyl and it is working so far, I have noticed that the strong smell is leaving and I have only been taking it for about 3 days. maybe the doctor can check you for this. the medicine taste awful and you have to take it three times a day but it is worth it.

Usually when urine is smelly, apart from obvious foods, it is due to lack of water intake or a bacterial infection. I suspect it is the lack of water intake. Up your fluid intake, not just coffee! You should smell a change in few days. If it continues, go see a doctor.
