smelly hands

Over the past few months my hands have smelt really strange like the smell of a scab healing.  it is more noticeable on my right palm and in the mornings.  my hands have also become really dry possibly due to constant washing now i have a baby.  do you have any idea what this is? is it from my pores? is it bacterial? washing makes no difference to the smell.  thank you

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Dry hands could be due to excess soap and washing. They could also be due to dermatitis and fungal infection. This can result in a smell. Get your blood sugar tested as high blood sugar can cause infection. Wear gloves while washing clothes and see if it helps. Use a good moisturizer. Consult a skin specialist. Take care!

you could have an infection in your hands. you should see your doctor who could prescribe antibiotics. your skin can become more dry in the winter, do not use perfumed soap as this will make it worse. try using a scented handwash like cocunut. your pores could be blocked from a bacterial infection your doctor might prescribe an antibiotic cream.
