Hi,

my doc extended the cipro medication by 4 weeks.  I went to doc for the bottleneck issue in my penis head.  at that time i didn't hve any pain in rectum.  but after taking cipro, am feeling some warm kind of feeling in rectum.  is this common?  some people have said that they have golf ball kind of feeling in rectum.  is it same as what am experiencing?

Hi William,

i thought Herpes will have a outburst every now and then.  Not sure why you are suspecting herpes because i never had outburst.  Also i had protected sex, inspite of that i tested STD almost five times out of which two times i tested for herpes. one at kelsy seybold and other at lab corp. i think both are pretty reliable.  so i dont think this has got to do with herpes.  Also herpes doesn ot have symptom of left testicule pain.

Hi William,

I used to come down with epididymitis, or orchitis at the rate of about every 3 to 4 months requiring hospitalizations and antibiotics through IV.
Prior to that I had a lot of problems with prostatitis, UTI, and kidney infections. In 1995 I underwent a TURP and resection of the bladderneck, after this I started to end up with the infections of the testicles. Having come accross an article in about 1999, stating that men who used to undergo a prostatectomy also used to get a vasectomy to prevent infections from spreading to the testes. My wife and I had four children at the time, and thought that I might benefit from a vasectomy. Things did not exactly go OK and I ended up with a hematoma of the left testicle. About a year later I underwent emergency surgery to have the left testicle removed after it having become necrotic as the result of a Strep infection.
From 2000 up to today I have not had any other infection of the right testicle.

I'm not suggesting that you go for a vasectomy right away as less invasive treatments should be considered first. It might require you to be on several antibiotics for an extended period of time. One of the drugs used on me was Flagyl. This drug targets organisms that don't require oxygen. The side effects of this drug are a bad metalic taste and in my case due to a neurological condition it did damage to my nervous system.

Epididymitis can be cured but it can be very difficult to treat.

All the best.

Ron

can epdidymis occur because of prostritis?  i have tested for STD more than 5 times now and everytime it has come clear, so am sure it is not a STD.

hi,

my doc examined and said i have prostraitis.  he examined by inserting finger and examined my prostrate.  he had given me cipro for 2 weeks twice a day.  i feel the pain in penis head has reduced, but my left testicle pains now and then.   i did scrotum scan 7-8 months back, and the results were clean. and did one final last STD check and they came clean as well.

i have setup a followup appointment with doc this thursday.  going to ask him to do a prostrate message and collect the fluid to check for prostraite once again.

am worried if there will be any prostrate cancer or testical cancer.  am also going to ask for PSA test to make sure it is not prostrate cancer.

Hoping for best.

Can i depend on the ultra sound done on scrotom 7-8 months back?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The typical symptoms of prostatitis are fever, pelvic, testicle, or rectal pain, frequent and painful urination and ejaculation and incomplete emptying of bladder.
You need to get digital rectal examination( DRE) and some investigations like urine examination, ultrasound of the prostate, prostate specific antigen, examination of the prostatic fluid and cystoscopy done. Treatment is diagnosis specific.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
