21yo nonsmoker Diagnosed with Bullous Emphysema

Hello,
I am a 21 year old, non smoking female that has just been diagnosed with bullous emphysemic blebs. My left lung is almost completely black in the CT scans. The doctor ordered blood tests for Alpha -1 deficiency, however, he mentioned he did not believe it was due to an enzyme deficiency. I am seeing a thoracic surgeon in a few days, because, most likely, I will have to undergo lung reduction surgery. This is all happening so fast. If it is not an enzyme deficiency, what could it be? Can things like this be treated? Could I live a relatively long, normal, and active life despite these lung problems?

i been smoking for 1 &1/2 years recently found out that i had Bibasilular Bilateral bullous lung disease ..
Can Anyone tell me what the Heck this means, and how it will affect me? i cannot find anything on it!!
