Constant hunger, never feeling full, but no pain

I have this constant hunger, even after I eat. It's like mt stomach feels empty, even though I just ate. They agve me an anti spasm medication and the feeling went away but now it's back. I have no pain to speak of but I keep hungry, very hungry, and if I dont eat, I feel like I might get sick. the only way to know I'm full is when I do feel nausea set in. There is no diarreah, no vomitting and I'm not losing weight. I dont know what to do. i haven't ever had this before.

This discussion is related to Unexplained constant hunger pangs.

Hey thank you guys for responding. I remembered that I had drinken tap water from the faucet an I went to the ER 2 days ago. She said I could have Giardia which is a parasite found in well water or poorly treated surface water. I have to bring back a stool sample for her to check. If that is what ti is... I cant wait for it to go away. I am never drinking water from the tap ANYWHERE ever again.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Get blood sugar tested. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. See if this helps. Increased hunger can also be psychological. Is there a chance that you are pregnant?
Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!

You might have a problem with your hypothalamus. I suggest talking to your doctor about that possibility.

Hi, u may want to go to a GI dr to be tested for GERD/acid reflux...many times  u can have a feeling of constant hunger and it is a symptom of GERD/reflux.

Do avoid certain foods for now and do not eat 3 to 4 hrs b4 lying down as it can add to the issues u r having. Avoid soda's and spicy foods until u see the dr and get a dx as to what the issue really is, but if it is reflux u should see some benefits even small ones.

Good luck and please post an update on ur progress
