severe ,persistent head tingling and headaches with blurred vision

by gingerbread, Nov 16, 2005 12:00AM
when I was around 33yo I had an episode during which I was unable to speak except with severe slurring but I could think. I am now 53 yo.  During the past yr I have been c/o increasing tingling sensations in my head sometimes w/ blurred vision especially in my right eye accompanied with a feeling of pressure and sometimes dizziness even when lying down.  I also have a persistent and sometimes vague headache.  Sometimes the headache becomes full blown. ( meaning I have to take Tynelol or some med)  Initially the tingling sensation occured at the top of my head but has spread, also, to the forehead and aroun the back of my head as like total circumference.  Another way to describe the tingling sensation in my head is like a buzzing or a rippling sensation.    I am currently on atenolol-previously triamterene ( during which the symptoms of tingling were less regular and severe tho the vertigo was more frequent. All this I informed my pcp of.  As of last month I have no insurance.

I am only 25 and I have the tingling in my head, on my left side, mostly in the back and pains, my eyes are also starting to blur. Last time I went to my doctor he said it was tension headaches and cracked my neck....did not help and now I have no insurance. I just wanted to write to you, because your symptoms sound a little familiar to mine.

Hi ladies. Im just throwing a suggestion to you. Im not a dr or nurse but I had  alot of these symptoms and was diagnosed in July with IIH.( Idiopthic Intracranial Hypertention) or another name is Pseuodtumour cerebri. Its quite rare and I was being treated for the wrong thing for a year. Why not look it up and see if your symptoms fit? Best of luck to you all. Cath278
