low white blood cells.1.54

sorry for very late reply. i am on my 14 weeks of treatment. und since week 4.. i am on ribavirin and peginterferon.dr is giving me injection for 2 weeks to boost the low white cell.another blood test next week to see result. thanks..

sorry for very late rely.my neutrophils level is 0.71 and white blood cell is 1.54. the doctor given me an extra injection a week for two weeks. blood test again in the third week. what should i be aware of? thanks.

Are you on treatment or asking in general if your white count is a symptom of Hep C?

my x wife had very low white blood cells after a few weeks of tx....they cut her dose in half for the rest of her tx....she cleared 10 years ago and is doing fine today...billy

Your doctor should be watching your cbc's closely to see what levels drop as you go through trt.  Low wbc is not good, but a better indicator of the risk of infection is ANC - absolute neutrophil count.   There is a lower threshold at which your doctor will consider the addition of neupogen to bring the ANC back into range.

You should also request a copy of your blood results so you can understand what's going on.
