It almost sounds like an allergic reaction to the medication (hives)  and the leg thing sounds like poor circulation.  If you are not happy with what the ER said get her into her pediatrician right away to ease your mind.  Good Luck to you.

Croup? what type of medicine did they give her?

If she is croupy what works is placing her near steam to loosen up the cough

Yes I agree sounds like a reaction to the medicine if it is a rash and itcy.

As for purple colour on her legs ??

I know with my oldest child I took her in(ER) about 3 times one week because I said she was breathing funny they told me I was a first time mom just anxious, go home , Well finally they did a chest xray (to shut me up) and she had pnenomnia (sp)

so if your uncomfortable go back!!

I agree a mother knows best! If you are not comfortable with the answer you were given go back! That doesn't sound like an allergic reaction to me.

My daughter recently got a rash on the back of her right leg and it's now covering the thigh.  It's only on the right leg.  She seems fine but I am concerned because it's getting worse.  It started slowly as little fine bumps and now covers the top of her leg and is getting more red. She hasn't had anything new to eat or any specific occurances that I can think of to cause this.
