Menstruation after childbirth

by LukesMom, Jun 06, 2006 12:00AM
I had a baby almost 9 weeks ago and have not gotten my period yet. I am not breastfeeding. I have been feeling the symptoms like it is on its way, but so far, nothing yet. My husband and I had sex one time about 2-3 weeks ago without any protection, but he pulled out before ejaculation occurred. Am I just being overly paranoid that there could be a chance that I am pregnant again? Even though he pulled out, can there be a chance that something could happen?

Yikes! I wouldn't say your being overly paranoid, there definatley is a chance you could be pregnant already. Pull out method is very non aggressive, not a full proof method. Dh lets many sperms out during sex before the end. So if you were ovulateing then you could have goten pregnant. I don't know how long it takes for the body to get back in the swing of ovulating, I think it is different for everyone. I've heard of people getting pg within weeks of birth :O I would just take a test to check. That would be crazy! Wouldn't be the first to have that happen though :)

it is possible that you are pg, women are suppose to be more fertile after giving birth.  i agree, you should take a hpt or see your dr.

I took a test and I am NOT pregnant! Whew!! Of course it would have been a wonderful thing but for now I am content with my 2 month old son!! Thanks for the help!

My son is 9 weeks old today, and I have not even had any signs that my period is coming.  I took a preg test about a week ago and it was negative.  My husband and I resumed our sex life when my son was 4 weeks old, but have used condoms everytime.  I am really concerned about the possibility of pregnancy because I already have 4 children ages 4 and under and an 8 year old.  Lukesmom, have you gotten your period yet??

Thanks.
