Congratulations to you!  That is wonderful news and I am truly joyful for you.  I wish you the best of luck with this pregnancy.  Please keep us posted.

Thank you for your kind words of support.  The waiting is the hardest part.  I will take your advice and try to find things to occupy my mind.

Hello Everyone!
I found this board while seeking answers for the symptoms I've been experiencing since my transfer on 5/09.  After a year of unsuccessful trying on our own, my husband was diagnosed with low sperm count and motility.  This is our first attempt at IVF with ICSI and assisted hatching.  Only 6 eggs were collected during my retrieval and two embryos were transfered on day 3.  None to freeze, unfortunately.  My blood test is scheduled for tomorrow morning, but I get an awful feeling that my period is about to start.  I've had preiod-style cramps for the past three days, lower backache, headaches, and horrible night sweats for the past two nights.  It seems like many of you have experienced cramping....has anyone else had night sweats?  I would appreciate any input you have to offer....like the rest of you, this waiting is driving my crazy!  Thanks!

I too would have sworn that I was going to start.  I did not have the sweating though! But everyone has some of the same and some different symptoms. I commend you for not taking the HPT.  I did not wait the stress was too much, so I took the test and it was positive. Then I wondered if it was correct or not, luckily for me it was.  I wish you the best of luck. Please let us know tomorrow when you find out.  I will say some prayers for a positive result. You are not alone, there are alot us going through this.  Shannon

I haven't had the night sweats but I've experienced all of the rest of your symptoms.   My test is tomorrow too so I obviously don't know what the outcome will be but I hope it provides you some comfort to know that lots of other people experienced the same symptoms and are now happily pregnant!   I too have been convinced for the last week that I'm going to start any minute.   I just found this site a few days ago myself and it's made me feel so much better.   I definitely wish I'd found it prior to my 3rd IVF but the girls on this site are just the best...so totally supportive.    I will be thinking about you and wish you all the best for a positive test result tomorrow.

Wow that is a high Beta, could be twins. How many days after your transfer was your blood test?  I was told my was high too and we are praying for twins, it would be so awesome. Mine was 758 day 12.  We won't find out though until the 28th!!!  Shannon

by mysty2001, May 20, 2008 05:01PM
SMA and Rose - yes I have twins - but I didn;t guess based on hcg (because I had super high betas nurse said I bet twins and it was one - next pregnancy normal beta - 99 day 10 and 205 day 12 - and it was twins - so I knew not to rely)  But I thought twins cause I was nauseated so early - like last set of twins

mine was 900 day 13 (really late day 12)

How many children do you have and were they all from IVF?  That is weird about the HCG's level's being so different, lower=twins higher= single.   I guess I should stop assumming that I have twins based on numbers.  Shannon

SMA827-  What was your first beta?  Mine was 745 so I am wondering if twins too.  This is going to be a long couple of weeks! When is your Ultrasound?

Emily- I know how you feel about all the PMS type symptoms.  I haven't had any night sweats but have had cramps pretty much everyday since my transfer.  Some of my cramps get pretty intense at times too. I even had some spotting last week. My doctor suggested I just take some Tylenol so at least I won't feel them and then they won't cause as much worry.
Good luck tomorrow, let us know how it goes!

Hello Rose,  My first beta was 758 then 2 days later it was 1,957. Sounds like yours and mine are very close.  My sonogram is on the 28th of May. What about you?  Also my 1st beta was done on day 12 after the transfer.  Shannon

That is so funny, we have almost identical numbers!  I go in for my 2nd beta tomorrow and am eager to see what it is.  That will have been 72 hours in between tests.  I'm not sure exactly when my ultrasound will be.  I think they want me to wait till the 30th or 31st  but I might beg them to let me have one sooner just to see how many little guys are in there.  I almost feel like this wait is harder than just finding out if I was pregnant.  I finally have had a day without cramping so far which makes me feel better.  Best of luck to you, please keep me updated so we can compare notes!

rose - I caution about u/s before 6 weeks - it is not considered a "viability" u/s till 6 week when you see the heartbeats - before that you are setting yourself up for dissappointment (JMO)

Hi Shannon,
Yes, I got my test yesterday.  My 2nd beta was 2999!  This was 72 hours after the 1st.  How many hours between your 1st and 2nd?  Do you go back for another test soon or do you just go for an ultrasound next?  I have a week until my next blood test and then they said an ultrasound can be done on June 1st.  I am excited
