Hyland Colic tablets and other products

by Me2mommy2b, Nov 16, 2006 12:00AM
I've seen a few ppl on here posting about Hyland products (colic, teething tablets).  Are there any side effects of using the product or any allergies I should know about?  And how effective/ineffective were the tablets for you?  I've been trying to find a product that would work for my colicky baby, no luck as of yet (tried fennel water, gripe water, mylicon drops).  Thank you.

When my first DD had horrible colic, I didn't have any idea what to do. I was only 20 years old and thought, "Whoa--I didn't know babies were this hard!"

I tried all those holistic tablets and such and nothing helped.

When I FINALLY mentioned it to her Dr after 2 months of horror, he prescribed a medication called Levsin. It was a night and day difference.

This was 16 years ago, so I don't know about what the latest may be on helping a baby with colic. But this is what worked for me back then.

If you find a solution let me know----I am in the same boat as you and cannot wait until DD reaches 4 mo--she will only be 2 months old next week and is just miserable esp in the evenings.  I feel bad for her dad because he only sees her at night and watches her when she is at her worst so that I can sleep and get a break.

I also tried EVERYTHING out there including bottles, beds, wraps, herbs- nothing worked. Colicalm would work occasionally, but that's it. Finally around 13 weeks it did get better..hang in there

I have used both the Hyland's colic and teething tablets and they worked great for my DD. I haven't noticed anything as far as side affects or allergies. The colic tablets worked wonders for me and one of my friends that had a lot of problems with her DD and the colic. I don't use the teething tablets all that much. I just use orajel mostly for that. DD is four months and has grown out of the colic, so I don't have to worry about that anymore just her being constipated every now and then. Doctor says its normal, but she screams bloody murder when she has to poop and it won't come out and I am assuming it hurts like H***! I feel sorry for her.
