Help with colic-open forum also

by clevelandlady, Nov 17, 2006 12:00AM
I noticed alot of posts about colic lately,so I thought I'd share a little trick I learned. My first daughter was very gassy and miserable from about 2 weeks on,and would cry non stop from 8pm till around 2 am.I tried every kind of formula from soy to nutrigenmen [? spelling] and nothing worked. We were living in the downstairs of a double at that time, and an old grandma lived above us.She told me about the vacuum cleaner trick. If you turn your vacuum on,it stops them in mid scream. It worked like a charm for my dd ,and I did that till she got older and and the gassy/fussiness stopped on it's own.~ feel free to use as an open forum also~ have a great weekend everyone !

To: how long does it last?
since i live in an apartment building, running a vacuum at 1 am is not an option for us...well, come to think of it, i think they'd rather hear the humming of the vacuum then the screaming baby.  gotta try it and see if it works for my colicky baby.  She'll be 8 weeks on sunday.  How long did it last with your babies???

Also try the fan above the stove. I did that with my little guy. I'd put him in the baby bjorn and put the exaust fan on above the stove and bounced up and down....always worked!
