Pregnant with low T4

I am 26 weeks pregnant. At 8 weeks I had a TSH drawn and it was 1.2. At about 20 weeks I started experiencing muscle weakness, aches, dizziness, and mild depression. All was blamed on being pregnant. About a week ago I had several near syncopal episodes and was very orthostatic. I had TONS of tests run and my thyroid panel showed a TSH of 1.09 and a free T4 of 0.43. My GP put me on Synthroid 50mcg. I am having a TSH,T4 and T3 redrawn 4 weeks after starting the Synthroid. She said to hold off on any other testing until after I deliver. Does this sound right? And I wanted to confirm that normally free T4 should be normal if not slightly elevated during pregnancy. Also, any input as to why my TSH would be normal when my T4 is low?
