by leahms_87, May 04, 2007 12:00AM
Hi all, I'm 32w and was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this clicking sound from your baby from the womb. Just curious, it doesn't happen very often, I'm just curious.

How are are mums to be doing anyway. Not long now, lol

Mine isnt repetitive. It's like, she'll move and I'll here a slight click. Sorta like when your bones crack when you move a certain way.  But it's just like a one time deal.  It happens like once every few weeks. Its very strange

No, I haven't experienced a clicking sound from the womb, I didn't with my first either.

I am 31 weeks and doing pretty good.  The main complaint that I have is getting comfortable when I lie down.  Last pregnancy a body pillow worked for me, but for some reason this time I am not as comfortable.  It could be a lot worse though!  I have gained around 16 lbs and have felt pretty good most of the time.  I try to work out 3-4 times a week.  I do find that I am more tired recently though and have been taking a little rest in the afternoon.  I don't know if this is pregnancy related or not.

Wow - that's interesting.  I wonder if I have a clicking noise from the womb.  I'm assuming you hear it on ultrasound or heart monitor, or do you mean with the naked ear?  I haven't had an u/s since 19w, so I'm not sure on u/s - won't have one until around 36w, and I'm currently 32w, too!  I feel pretty good these days, except my belly gets achy by mid-afternoon, and by the evening, it really feels so (like I've done a million crunches).  I have BH contractions on most afternoons, too, but water really helps.  I have a baby shower on the 19th that I'm so excited about, and then I'll know just what I have left to buy.  Nursery is just about done, except DH has to hang our pictures now.  Lots of health and happiness to us all!

Yes I've heard this sound before.  I thought it was only me. I looked into the archives of this site and found not much help.  I never asked the dr because I just assumed that they would look at me like I was nuts. But yes, I've heard it before.  It doesnt happen often, maybe like once in a few weeks but I know its coming from inside. I dont know.. Sorry I cant be of more help.

I'm wondering - is it a repetitive sound, like how your baby's hiccups sound?  Mine has hiccups daily, but he doesn't click, but maybe if it's repetitive, it's hiccups.  A shot in the dark, I know, but worth it!

Yes me too, i posted aboout this a little while ago, its a weird sound, i think its him stretching his arms and legs, i'm sure its not me because it only happens when he moves.  It's weird but he's been doing it for about 4 weeks now.  I think things are just getting a little cramped in there.

I had it happen once, a few weeks back at 34/35 weeks maybe. It was very loud, and I felt it as well. It was at the top of my uterus. I never did ask my Dr what it was. I did a bunch of research of it, but didn't find much. Just said it was most likely from the baby stretching or whatever, but I don't remember him moving at the time.

I'm 34 weeks, and due June 12th.

I've never heard of a clicking sound coming from the womb/baby.  This is my #3, and I never heard of it with either of my other two.  Have you asked your dr?

I'd guess as long as your baby is still actively moving, there shouldn't be a concern.  Weird though.

I'm feeling fine, although now after dinner I feel like my food wants to come back up.  lol.

6 more weeks.  So close, but so far away.

I find myself sleeping on my back still and I'm comfortable doing so.  I guess old habits are hard to rid of huh.  My dr said all is ok with me doing it, as long as I move back to my side when I wake up finding I'm on my back.

Thanks for the clarification.  I will pay extra attention to any clicking I may hear (nothing yet).  With so many feeling it, I bet it is a totally normal thing and stretching sounds perfectly logical.  I click a lot when I stretch ;)

I'm think GN had her baby.  She hasn't been on here in the past couple of days.  Have you seen her on here?

I'm so glad I saw these postings.  I hear the clicking noise once in a while.  This is my 2nd pregnancy...I never heard this noise with the 1st and thought "how weird is this??!!"  I'm seeing my doc tomorrow and am gonna ask...but I'm so glad that I'm not the only one out there that is hearing this clicking - like cracking knuckle - noise coming from the womb.  I just wish now I knew what the heck it was that the baby is doing in there to make such a noise.
