31 weeks/ frequent urination

by sue25, May 23, 2007 12:00AM
I was wondering if any other moms out there are also having problems with frequent urination in their last trimester. I know this is a common problem in late pregnancy but I literally have to go every 15 or 30 minutes and I get up at least 2 or 3 times at night to go pee. It's driving me crazy. I'm wondering if this could be a sign of a urinary tract infection although it does not hurt when I pee. My obgyn takes a urine sample everytime I go and I know she checks for sugar and protein but do they usualy also check for urinary tract infections? Thanks

You girls are not alone.  I am now 30W3D and I am constantly running to the restroom.  Sleep is getting harder because I am waking up at least every two hours.  It's also getting hotter so I am drinking more water which is a necessary evil I guess.  I need the fluids but then they make me run to the bathroom even more.

27 weeks and living in the bathroom.  At my next apt I am going to get them to check my urine just in case.

I have had this problem my whole pregnancy and it has gotten worse since about 30w and I am now 35w1d.  I go at least twice an hour and at night - every hour on the hour.  I know it is not going to get any better either

definately get checked for an UTI.  i found out in my last pg that the sample they test each visit is not tested for UTI.  also, the "burning" doesn't always happen w/ UTI.

Didn't think of that.  I have had UTI twice and it was very painful both times.  I will check with the dr next week.

Same here...31 weeks...Except I go about 3 times an hour.  I went into premature labor and am on bedrest.  The bathroom is the only time I am allowed up.  Try having a ontraction every time you need to pee.  Plus, my son seems to think my bladder is a punching bag!  Oh well...I suppose this is what we go through for these little angels.

i had 4 children, the last trimester there is alot of pressure on your bladder. i went to the bathroom constantly.at night after i got in bed i got up 9-20 times to urinate before i could go to sleep.take lots of warm baths to relax you,ask your doctor if you can put a warm heating pad over your lower abdomen,it can help relieve feelings of bladder pain and pressure.
