2 pin sized sores on base of glans

About 3 weeks ago my girlfriend (of 2 years) and I started using the Trojan Extended Pleasure condoms, which contains 4% benzocaine. I noticed a burning sensation on the base of my glans after the last few times we had sex. Two days ago I noticed three small pin sized scabs (round in shape) on the base of my glans. I do have frequent fever blisters (HSV1) around the mouth area due to stress at work and I was worried that maybe I somehow spread the infection to my penis; however, I never experienced any burning or itching. We are smart enough not to kiss while I'm having an outbreak so that I do not pass my fever blisters to her. The two small sores are all but gone now (after 3 or 4 days).
Is this an allergic reaction to the benzocaine or did I somehow spread the fever blisters? Or is this something different all together? I have an appointment scheduled with my urologist next week, but was hoping to gain some comfort in the interim so that I could stop worrying about it. Thanks a lot.
