Moderate CK level

by steveoz_08, Jun 21, 2007 08:52AM
Over the last year I have seen my GP as well as neurologist 5 or 6 times, had two MRIs, two EMGs, one x-ray and numerous blood tests.  All came back negative except my CK blood test which has been moderately high, between 250 and 325 on three different occasions.  I originally started seeing the doctor because I had mild twitching in my arms and occasional weakness and twitching in my legs.  After each exam or test the doctors always seem to be unconcerned, and basically tell me that I seem perfectly healthy to them.  I do have a confirmed herniated disc in my neck as well as spurring so I’m sure some of my symptoms are due to this.  I’m personally concerned about the CK blood test and the fact that the other symptoms that I have won’t go away.  What is my next step?  Should I assume the worst and go see another specialist?  Medical bills are starting to build up and I’d like to believe that everything is ok but that’s hard to do.

Hi, I have the same issue only higher CK levels, 800 to 1200. I have done the same test and more. Always they tell me they don't know why and I seem perfectly healthy to them. But for almost two years now I walk slow and with pain, like knives. I thank God everyday that I can walk and beleive my suffering is a gift from the divine (thank you) but I would like to walk faster and run again.

a month ago I went to the doctor because of muscle pain and my ck level came back at 3400, i had the emg, bone density , muscle biopsy, and a second ck test with the same result of 3400, I saw my regular doctor last Wednesday and requested another ck test and the results were 800.  emg, bone density, muscle biopsy all came back with no significant negative results, now they say I may have a virus.  I am scheduled to go to the Mayo Clinic on May 22 for a more definitive diagnosis, I still have muscle pain and have been off work since March 26th.  Curious if your ck levels fluctuate or stay the same.
