Ichy, Burning, Prickly Skin

5 months ago I began getting an intense burning, iching, prickly, stinging feeling around my feet. It has pretty much migrated to my whole body and seems to becoming from within my body. It seems to be worst when I exercise (rise in blood flow) or am in a very warm room.

I have had blood work, spinal tap, and an MRI done and nothing out of the ordanary has shown up.  Blood presure normal.

My Doctor prescribed Gabapentin, but this has had little to no results.

Any thoughs?

A form of prickly heat. I had it in high school. Very troublesome.

It has since returned. All I can figure is that my pores are blocked with **** and dead skin cells. Cold water to the wrists will calm the issue. When I shower this morning, I'm going to slough my feet with a stone. That might help my feet "breath", thus removing body heat.

OH MY GOD!!!

I have finally found people with the SAME/similar skin problems with me.  I'm 22, and I started developing this itchy, prickly, stinging skin irritation this May, so, it's been about 4 months.  I have NEVER had any skin problems.

Very similar with MANY OF YOU, whenever my body warms up, just the VERY beginning of it, when it wants to sweat, this itchy, prickly and stinging feeling just swarms up all over my upper body, arms, and even my face.  It happens EVERYDAY, even when i'm just sitting here.  Or when I get excited or nervous over something, it comes on too.  It bothers the **** out of me.  Sometimes, it'd leave tiny pink dots on the inside of my arms, which gradually go away as the episode calms down in several minutes.

Interestingly, this is ONLY a momentary problem; as I sweat more and more, say when I exercise, the itchiness goes away, but still!!!

WHAT IS THIS?!

tec,

Your description about your itch problem sounds exactly like mines, for me it started like last summer and for the longest time I've been trying to diagnose this problem.

I say a Chinese Herbalist and they say its a problem with my liver. I have been given chinese herbalist drinks and have yet to see any results.

Skin still gets itchy when body gets heated up and when somethings rubs against it causing a reaction with the skin. My skin usually gets bumpy to after scratching it.

I've had no history of skin problems.

HELP ME PLEASE!

I had an outbreak (actually brought it on myself) when I was at the Doctor's the other day.  He thinks it's Hives and has refered me to a Dermotolgist to see if they and determine what is causing it, if in fact it's Hives (I'm not totally convinced). In the meantime I'm taking Benadryl, Gabapentin, and Ranitidine like no tomorrow.  It seem to work about half the time.

Could be Fibromyalgia or Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) These conditions do NOT show up in any tests. And the lack of a diagnosis is usually what indicates these conditions. Ask your doc..
I have severe leg and foot pain due to a back injury and surgery. I have ried Gabapentin with no good results as well as just about everything else you can imagine. I have recently been put on a drug called Lyrica. It is used for nerve pain in mainly diebetics I believe but the doc wanted to give it a try and I have noticed a big improvement with the leg and foot pain. Maybe you could ask the doc about it.
Good luck and I hope you are diagnosed and treated very soon, I know how miserable it can be.
