Blood in semen after prostate biopsy

by 697211, Aug 15, 2006 12:00AM
I still have blood in my semen two weeks after a prostate biopsy. I know this is normal. Will masturbating decrease the number of weeks blood remains in the semen, or does blood continue to leak into the semen until the bleeding from the biopsy finally stops?

I just had a prostate biopsy and have the same question.  It has only been 3 days since my biopsy. I've ejaculated once and there was a lot of blood.  I'm also wondering if I should continue to masturbate and ejacualte and will this speed up the time when there will be no more blood in my ejaculate.

It has been over 2 weeks since I had a prostate biopsy (12 samples) and i still have blood in my semen. My doctor told me it could last up to 2 months.  I have been reassured by him that it will ultimately go away.  I find it pyschologically difficult (and so does my wife) when blood comes out when you do not think it should.
