My thyroid had only a small, complex cyst (no calcification) but it was suspicious enough for me I had a lobectomy. Papillary carcinoma. Three of my four sisters subsequently were also found to have papillary carcinoma.
Your next steps should probably be to find a good endocrinologist and inquire about a biopsy. The two nodules sound suspicious enough to biopsy. Please remember that 85-95% of thyroid nodules are BENIGN - my family is just the exception to the rule.
