Neuro symptoms indicative of what?

Please could someone clarify these things for me? I have visited my GP regarding the following and a referral to a neurologist has been made with a request for MRI brain, but my GP is being evasive as to what she thinks it might be..
I am 24 and suffering from episodic incidents of pain in eyes, dizziness, forgetfulness, terrible tiredness/weakness in legs, altered sensation in legs. On neurological examination she found me to have slight clonus in knee jerks and ankle jerks but absent plantars. These symptoms started 7 years ago but were very infrequent. Over the years they have gradually increased in frequency (now approx every 2 months lasting for a week). The only time I was symptom free was during pregnancy 3 years ago. Any thoughts? I'm quite a methodical, logical person and I deal best with things when I have a full knowledge of what might/might not be, which my GP will not provide me with.
