Hello all again.



I'm sorry but I'm panicing about my risk again! I had protected sex with a sex worker in germany, almost 11 weeks ago now.  But, she masterbated me post sex with lube that left me with a small cut/tear at the top of my urethra.  So my fear was that her vaginal fluids at the base of my penis were smeared over my cut, putting me at risk. Now, my lastest panic is because I have been having groin pain for over a week now.  I tested negative for Gonerrea adn chlamydia 2 weeks after. But, I was on antibiotics for a spell in the 2 weeks for a separate reason.  I went to the docs with the groin pain last week and he has put me on Cipro.  I know this is the wrong forum for this question, but if I get tested again for Chlamydia will it be affected by the Cipro?  Is my risk for HIV really almost zero?  Is the neg HIV test I had at 7 weeks really conclusive?

Forgot to reiterate that she removed the condom to masterbate me!

As far as HIV is concerned, you had a 0 risk encounter.  Masturbation, fingering and frotage are not vectors of HIV transmission.  



Furthermore, your negative 7 weeks test is conclusively reliable.  So put this behind and move on.



Regarding the symptoms you describe, I really can't say but I would doubt that antibiotics affect test results.  Follow up with your Dr. if symptoms persists but it is most probably nothing (perhaps a mechanical inflamation?) serious.

Thanks for your reassuring words. But, regarding the possible Chlamydia infection.  I have tender "tubes" and testicles.  However, I've never had any burning feeling or any discharge.  Plus, as I mentioned I got a gon and Chlam negative test result 2 weeks after my sex worker encounter. So I'm puzzled!!

Although not the antibiotic of choice, Cipro is pretty effective against chlamydia.  So if by some chance you were infected with chlamydia, the cipro would have cleared it, explaining your negative result.

Hi Sparkler,

I was on Trimethoprim prior to my neg. Chlamydia test.  Could it be possible to get a negative result but still have it? Can Trimethoprim reduce Chlamydia to a level below which it can be detected.  But, you still have it? Or is a negative test a negative, full stop?

Trimethoprim is active against a wide range of bacteria, but it has little activity against species of bacteria such as mycoplasma and chlamydia, so would not likely be too useful in treating chlamydia.  Therefore it would not give you a negative result if you were on it and had chlamydia.
