clomid and ovulation

I have been on clomid for 9 months now the first 5 months my obg didnt monitor me nor gave me temp chart nothing just told me use this med and comeback when you get pregnant!!i didnt ovulate on that.then i changed the obg,he started on 50mg again, didnt ovulate 2 cycle 100mg i ovulated on cd 17 but didnt get pregnant.3 cycle 100mg again but my temp started dropping and progestron level was low again (1.74).what do you think is the reason that i ovulated once on 100mg and didnt next cycle on the same dosage?p.s my husbands sperm test came back ok.im getting really hopless now he asked me to wait for af if it didnt come then provera again and clomid 150mg
i already have gained 20 pounds using this medicine i dont know what to do.do you think since i didnt get pregnant during this period will have a chance?please give me some advise.

i was on clomid for 4 cycles .. two natural cycles 50 mg then one natural cycle 100 mg cycles and one with IUI 100 mg and it did more harm than good. According to my RE the clomid created a thin uterine lining and thick cervical mucas ..not good for baby making so that is why we did the iui which failed to to the thin uterine lining.  I was suppose to go back for injectables with IUI but too expensive so we are waiting for now.

Move on from your Dr. I just did the same thing. My GYN gave me 3 months of clomid and said see ya in 3 months if your are not preg. (I had to pressure her to do the blood work and found out I'm not O'ing.) Not explanation and no monitoring. I gave her the boot and moving on to an RE next month. This stuff should not be taken so lightly by Dr's. My Dr. at least told me to chart my temps. Good luck!

HI there!  Did the Chinese doctor put you on anything specific for the weak uterus/eggs?  I would be interested in seeing one...
Thanks!

Go to an Reproductive Endocrinologist (fertility doctor). I am seeing my regular OB/GYN and he prescribed me 3 months of 50 mg of Clomid because I am not ovulating. He told me to come back in 3 months if I am not pregnant...however, from what I have been reading you should be monitored on Clomid (blood tests, ultrasounds, etc). I am do not get pregnant on this cycle then I am going to insist my doc recommend me or I am immediately moving on to a RE...something doesn't sound right about your situation. I would move on ASAP. Good luck...Baby Dust:)

I don't know if you're into Chinese medicine, but after 6 months of Clomid (4 months 50mg and 20 months of 100mg) 1 m/c, I tried other option which is Chinese docter/herbologist, recommended by a friend. According to his examination my uterus is very week, it looks I have a very thin lining, and I produced weak eggs. Multiple eggs, but weak. He said that's probably why I had the m/c. I'd say get a second opinion, and get off clomid for a while. Clomid is still a drug and it has its bad effect. Give your body a little rest, and who knows you might end up pg without it. Good luck and keep trying!

You should only be on clomid for 3 months.... I was also on clomid for 6 cycles, which was way too long.... I did 1 cycle of Femara, but that didn't work either...I have since done IVF, (which ended in ectopic pg.) so now I am getting ready for my next IVF cycle!!! Good luck to you!!!Jacquie
Maybe you should try injectibles??? and the hCG shot??? (for timing)

I'm sorry you aren't having any luck with Clomid.  9 months seems like a long time to be on Clomid.  According to my Dr., after a while Clomid has side effects that can actually work against you getting preg in some cases.  I would ask your ob/gyn about changing medicine.  I am about to start injections after being on Clomid for 4 months.  Looking back, I should have gotten off Clomid after my 3rd round.  On my 4th round, I did ovulate (which had been with all the rounds of Clomid) but b/c I was on Clomid for so long, it thinned out my uterus lining and implantation wasn't able to take place.  Good luck!
