Small Ovaries

by hopebaby07, Mar 20, 2007 12:00AM
Hi all,

Just got back from my RE,and he did an ultrasound and said that my ovaries are small, and sometimes that could be a problem too.... since we have been trying for more than 2yrs now and had 2 failed IUI's too.

he also suggested to do clomid challenge test,so we way we get more info about everything.

so was just wondering if anyone had this problem and had any success getting preg!!!

thanks in advance to everyone....

I have one smaller ovary, actually they couldn't find my left one it was so samll, but I since then have found out I have diminished ovarian reserve, which means I don't have many eggs left and my ovaries look like I am a 40 year old (I am 30) we found this out from clomid challenge test.

Yes, I found out I have small ovaries when I started seeing an RE for infertility. I also found out I have High FSH, which is why the ovaries are so small, meaning less eggs left. I was 36 at the time. We TTC for about 2 years before that and did a High stim cycle w/ Double IUI (failed) and it took a high amount of Gonal F for me to stim. I got 4-5 mature follicles. It failed, so we pretty much gave up.

We then moved on to another goal: get a new house built. A month into the building process we conceived! Naturally! I had a great, uneventful pregnancy and delivered a healthy, gorgeous baby girl in Aug. '05.

Just because your ovaries are small doesn't mean that there aren't enough eggs to conceive. Usually it takes longer though. I wish the best for you!

I was born without a uterus. My husband's cousin wanted to be our surrogant. So went began to see an RE. When I first saw the RE she draw a lot of blood from all of us. The RE did a sonogram everytime we visited the office. The RE had to prepare my surrogant's uterus and prepare my ovaries to ovulate. So after about a month of she gave both of us our first shot of Lupron. Than two weeks later we got more Lupron. Than two after the RE began us on Follistim, aspirin, prenatals and something else. My first sonogram the RE said I was still suppressed from the Lupron. Three days later my next sonogram I was to gasy for the RE to see anything. Yesterday the RE found no respones to all the drugs. She told me this happens. I want to know if the RE over suppressed me. I want to know why she wants to put me on estrogen for a couple of months instead if giving me CCCT test to see if there's something wrong with my ovaries. I've spent the night crying and my RE isn't availible till tomorrow. Is there anyone who has any info or advice?
