Acupunture really works..

by MAR13, May 11, 2007 12:00AM
I got to tell you guys, I started my acupunture last month and I just got my first period since I started it. I had it for 3 days and it was heavy as usual, but it came just on time (no stimulating medication taken at all) and it was painful for only half a day....instead of me going through 2 days of misery ;-) I don't know if that is the acupunuture, fertility yoga (I practically do everyday), or the diet....but it works and I think that I am more then ready for the second cycle of IVF ;-)

To: Does acupuncture work?
Hi,
I am 29,married, and have been diagnosed with a 7cm chocolate cyst. I didnt want surgery so they aspirated it and gave me two months to get pregnant( as it has the same effect as birth control pill- supress mensuration). I tried and didnt succeed and to top that the cyst came back so now I am going for accupunture hoping it will resolve this. Its very frustrating when you are trying to get pregnant with a cyst as both have similar symptoms( backache, nausea etc). Is there anyone else who is on the same path because I am really having a hard time emotionally.

Hello!   I also had a chocolate cyst (endometrioma) and had no other symptoms of endometriosis until they found this by ultrasound... I had the lap (they removed most of that ovary to get the cyst off) its been 3 months, they said they got it all, but that ovary isn't ever going to really function right...I have not tried accupuncture but if we go through IVF i am thinking of givint it a try then!     The endometriomas can release "toxins" and kind of mess up your hormones that can make it more difficult to get pregnant..and typically with aspiration it will quickly return... but yes due to having this they have put me on the "Fast track" to try to get us pregnant before it comes back!  It has been extremly hard emotionally and such a roller coaster!! good luck and keep us updated! : )
