I have hip prime and they didnt pay for the invitro or the meds. luckily my hubby had an alternate ins.  i still  had to pay the 20%. u need to look into ur benefits. affinity is not a really great insurance sorry to say. maybe u can switch? im not sure of ur situation. they also have programs out here that will help like integramed, and there is a state program that u must qualify for. as far as the meds are concerned do u have a seperate phar plan not affiliated with affinity? if not be prepared to pay $10,000 to $12,000 for ivf and the meds. Good luck

I have pacificare.  They paid everything 100% minus the 10- copay.  The only thing not covered is IVf.  They have paid for all of my meds as well.  Now that I am starting IVF that will all be out of pocket including meds.  It comes to about 15,400 (including the ICSI procedure and anesthesia.
I would definitely call other ins plans if you can and if you plan on starting with clomid or IUI.

Also ask your ins. co. if you can get the supplemental on fertility.  That is what I have with my Pacificare HMO.
Best of luck to you.

My insurance doesn't cover my clomid either - but i got the generic kind for about $24/cycle.  I know that there aren't many ins. plans that cover IVF unfortunately.
