low grade lesion

by Meghann, Mar 31, 2004 12:00AM
I know this has to do with cervical and not ovarian but I was hoping you could help me.  I had a pap which showed abnormal epithelial cells.  A DNA assay was negative for low and high grade HPV.  My colposcopy says low grade lesion consistent with HPV.  Given the DNA assay results, would I be considered HPV negative?  My OB's nurse can't call me for two more days.  Thanks.

I was diagnosed with low grade squamous lesions.  My doctor did not make it very clear if that means I have HPV also.  What i am concerned about is whether my boyfriend could contract HPV through me and if this may cause infertility in a man??  Maybe you could help clear up what low grad squamous lesions are and how i may have gotten them?

Thanks so much for your help.

Im not sure about the fertility but I do not a man can get HPV from you. I have it and my doctor told me it should just clear up on its own as there is no cure BUT your sexual partner can get it too. Which would this keep re-affect you.Im not sure of test for men with HPV. Also I also had low grade squamous lesions. They did a LEEP procedure at the hospital and a biopsy of WHITE area which came back negitive for cancer.FYI. Im sure you knoe certain strains of HPV cause cervical cancer. My doctor told me to quit smoking as smoking helps the bad cells to grow.
Also i have been pregnant 4 times and since I had the LEEP procedure and had HPV I havent gotten pregnant.

Above I meant to say at the top line that
"but I do know a man can get HPV from you"
I put Not instead of know. Sorry for confusion
