If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
I went to the clinic for a checkup and someone had placed a sharp object behind the door handle. I did not see the needle although I believe there may have been one.
Hi GM1987. This sounds a bit bizarre - did you check at all? It would take more than a little time and pre-meditation to stick a needle on a door handle in such a position that it would cause injury and more than likely it would have been noticed by clinic staff or other members of the public who also use the doors.
Have you tried going backBack pain - low Back strain treatment to the clinic to find out whether anything like that was discovered? It sounds very far-fetched and I find it much more likely you were just stuck with an odd splinterSplinter removal from the door. Don't let your mind start playing tricks on you, trying to generate "what if" scenarios.
Don't get caught up in his posts. Here is what he posted on AidsMeds before he got TO for 4 weeks.
Sorry.
I lost a very special person in my life recently and have been very sensitive.
I think the id is taking control of my ego and my superego is just watching the two battle with each other.
When I went to the clinic to get my test done, I remember opening the door and feeling a little sketchy about doing so. I realized that it had some clearClear by design Clear eyes Clear eyes acr Clear eyes clr masking tape wrapped around the area where the majority of people put their handsHand or foot spasms Hand tremor on and when I was inside, I began thinking that I got poked.
when someone gets poked by a needle, they naturally yall ouch, followed by what the f***. trust me you would have known, why didnt you check. because it didnt happen... good luck.

If you are still concerned, the estimated risk of HIV transmission following a needle stick injury with fresh HIV+ blood in the needle is 0.3%. This would have to be immediate as once the blood dries, the virus dies.
Sorry.

I checked from the interior (through the glass) - and could not see any visible needle but it might've been too thin for my eyes.
I cannot believe what nut cases there are out there in this world.
Now, after having read the HIV Forum and this forum for the past year..this shows what weirdos there are in this world:
1. someone thinks they got infected by a homeless man who got a haircut
2. someone thinks a random homeless man poked him with a needle at a diner
3. some freaking weirdo thinks the HIV counselor infected him with a dirty needle because he was not in the room to see him remove the syringe
4. the countless number of strippers who had "contaminated" saliva
5. stupid guys who get strip teases from random women who sat on their tighty whities
6. the countless number of morons who visit these "massage parlors"
7. this moron who thinks he was infected by a "thin needle" he couldn't see
8. shall I go on?????
Some people not only need to seek counseling, but need a course in Health and HIV.
I went to the clinic at 2:00PM so there were a lot of people that had gone inside/out.
I'm worried that no one reported the case (since this was at a very poor neighborhood and a lot of people are not fluent with the English language).
I guess I am creating "What if" scenarios after all...
Regarding the blood drying up, I don't think there was enough time for it to do so since people were constantly going in and out. It must have had fresh blood on it.
I have no idea why I started furiously thinking about this but SOMETHING must have sparked the though when I opened the door and I think it was a needle/sharp object.
Thanks for your support mate, there are not a lot of people willing to listen. I thank you and Mr. RapidRod on the other forum for listening to me.
EXACTLY,...IT WASN'T. SO STOP THE BULLS**T!
But I also state that I got poked by a sharp object, does that make me crazy?
Therefore I mention PERCUTANEOUS.
