Sleeping and eating problems

by Evangel, Feb 02, 2007 12:00AM
For the past 2 months, I have only slept around 1-2 hours a night, and a bowl of cereal every is enough to keep me full, even tho its not... I feel so exhausted lately, don't even have enough energy to do work... I've been depressed over my previous girlfriend, and I just want to know whats going on, or how can I get back to having 8-10 hours of sleep and eating a good amount... also, I've been dry heaving alot, for the past month and a half, and I've read the symptoms page, but all that it says is that my mind is staying on overdrive after I started to vomit, but thats the thing, it just started out of no one... Please help me, I really don't know whats going on, if its just depression or something else...

It sounds as though you are going through some tough times.
I don't have answers for you but i do wish you all the best.
Try to eat more than you are....and try to relax and maybe talk to your dr about a mild sleep aid.

When I was going through a tough time it felt like the worse time of my life and it probably was.  What helped was telling myself thats life isn't going to be like that forever.  Life isn't easy and sometimes you have to fight to be happy.  I went to the doctor and told him how I felt and I ended up bursting into tears.  He prescribed me with antidepressants and sleeping tablets but (sleeping tablet are very addictive) I felt groggy in the morning and was worried I'd become addicted.

In the end I decided to help myself and I to be honest I didn't really believe in taking medication (unless its severe depression, schizophrenia etc) so I decided to start running and after a few weeks I found all these symptoms went and it was much better than any sleeping tablet I'd taken.  I don't mean to sound cheesey but running changed my life for the better.

Try not to label yourself and just view it as going through a really difficult time in your life that you'll overcome and be a stronger person for it.
