What Happens Now?

by gertrude88, Jun 12, 2007 12:00AM
The last four weeks have had four different attempts at chemo for my MIL and the numbers just keep rising.  We were told yesterday the cancer has spread to her lungs.  My MIL and FIL aren't ones to tell us how bad it really is, but my husband is an only child and I would like to be as prepared as possible to help him through this thing.  Where are we?  What can we do to make her life comfortable and enjoyable?

Sorry to hear about your MIL.  Have they discussed hospice care with her?  Sometimes the important thing is the quality not the quanity.  No one knows how much time she or any of us have left.

I lost my Dad 9 years ago, it is never easy watching a parent that is ill and/or losing one.  Be there to listen.  That is the best advise that I can offer.

My thoughts are with you and your family and we are hear to support all of you in any way we can.
