Stomach, Feces...

by lats11, Feb 26, 2006 12:00AM
For days, BMs normal.  Then cramping, urgency to go, usually after lunch, then blowout bm.  On Armour Thyroid.  45y/o female.

Have seen 2 gastro guys in last 3 years.  Said most likely IBS.  Did not want to do colonoscopy as hemorroids were so inflamed as well as a fissure.  Said to add fiber, which I did for awhile, but wonder if it is making things worse.  Had really bad bout of hard stools last week, now belly seems to be tender.  GP said most likely from pushing, muscle etc.as well as intense moving of home goods.  GP doesn't feel need for me to go to Gastro again.  Wants to see if my thyroid levels out and if fiber will help over a 4 week period.  I am taking Armour 120mcg and 3 fiber capsules a day.  I don't know when to make the decision to break away from the thoughts of the GP.

Other situations:

Acid reflux, on occasion

Gassy

Belching

Please offer me some ideas.

Thank you

Cut out the three whites, including things made with white sugar, white flour.   Add fruit and Veggies and your system will start to regulate itself.   I found when I cut out all that stuff I would go at least twice a day.  Drink plenty of fluids too.   Add acidophilus to your diet too or a good probiotic.   Plain yogurt can help too.

Yes, acidophilus is usually very effective in reducing belching and flatulence.
