Ok I wanted to start a post to see how many of us had an unprotected vaginal encounter.

Guys and girls...how many of us have this type of exposure as our risk? It is a real risk and it causes me all sorts of anxiety.  I am a male so me risk isn't quite as high as a female in this case.  I remember the days when all I worried about was getting a girl pregnant, damn that is nothing compared to HIV. I would to create life as opposed to end it in such a horrible way like AIDS.  Heres hoping I have the balls to get tested this week!!!

I have had much more than my fair share of unprotected vaginal sex with different women. I would say I've had unprotected vaginal sex with 50-60 women. Yeah, I was an idiot. Of course, I don't do that anymore, but man, when I was in my late teens and early 20s I used to have unprotected one night stands like crazy. I got just about every other STD except HIV, so I ought to consider myself very lucky!

I came of age at a time when everyone had unprotected sex.  ("Only SAILORS use condoms, baby"!--or however that line went from Austin Powers).  I'd blush if I said how many men I've had unprotected sex with.  Including my hepC pos husband, to whom I've been having sex with since 1991.   My own little case study of one--I'm fine.  Neg for everything.

Unprotected vaginal sex with an unknown status partner is not wise, but is not considered high risk.  High risk exposures are vaginal unprotected sex to someone that is definately HIV pos, sharing iv injection equipment, or unprotected anal sex with an unknown status or positive male.

In my almost 30 years as a full time labor and delivery nurse, in all venues across the country, big cities and small, all socioeconomic classes, races, and ethnicities, I think I've run across about 4 HIV pos women having babies.  And they were all injection drug users.  I

IT IS NOT A COMMON DISEASE.  Far fewer women have it than men.  It is NOT easy to contract.  No one should be mindless of risks, everyone should be careful, but there is ABSOLUTELY no justification for the level of paranoia seen on this forum.

Unprotected vaginal sex... I have had unprotected vaginal sex with all seven girls that I have been with.  However, the first six were steady girlfriends that I knew well and trusted.  About six years ago I began a monogamous relationship and pretty much stopped worrying about STDs all together. Then, a few weeks ago I had unprotected sex with a girl I had just met in a bar. (DUMB I know) I tested negitive at three weeks and now I'm waiting to test again.

You need to cool out on the sexual encounters---if you must have sex, do so, but PLEASE strap up. Each STD you get puts you CLOSER to being at risk for HIV 5-10 TIMES more than the person who has never had an STD. It's only to protect YOU!

You've been told before a  conclusive test is 3 months, not 6 months. Now move on.

by Teak, Jul 26, 2008 05:43AM
3 months is the guidelines and has been for the last 4 years when the guidelines was changed.

Jweezy,
I am living for 5 years in South Asia and East Asia, and i wanna tell you that you are putting in your mind that the CSW is positive, there is no way to find it out, you never saw a test result of the girl (this is for sure).
I know, i've been in the same situation like you, it is your emotion that are speaking in your head, you want to convince yourself by the fact that se's positive.
My Friend don't worry too much, your test will be negative.
Go out and enjoy your saturday night.

Do you work with the CDC? Do you teach lessons on transmission and testing? Do you get the CDC updates and training manuals? No, so you don't have any idea what you are talking about. The GUIDELINES on testing was changed in 2004. Get your information correct before you post.

Back to the subject,
i was in the situation of unprotected sex with unknown girls and unknown status for like 12 years (it is countless)
I was verrrrrrrrrrrry stupid but i can say very lucky.
I caught only once gonorrehea 3 years ago.
Now i am married for like 8 months, my wife got pregnant last month, and for me my last result for HIV and STDs was 3 days ago, it came clear and negative.
I would say that i am very lucky in my life, but people, protected sex is pleasure with no risk ( man, woman, straight, gays... doesn't matter) stick to it and don't risk your life to be in a situation that you are forced to take medicine for the remaining days of your life and all this for a stupid mistake that you are aware of.

If what you are saying is true, listen to Teak that your 3 months test is conclusive.
Man feel at ease, and please post us your result monday, i would like to hear the good news from your side.
Take care.

Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months "after exposure" to confirm results.
