Itchy rash from tanning ?

Hi. Im not sure exactly what to say... I'll start by saying that I am a fair skinned person who burns easily but does tan... I recently joined a tanning salon yet again but never have I gone as much as I do now . For the past week and a half Ive only not gone twice. But following the my past few visits, I have prickly itching on my legs, hands, and back that develop into red and also colorless bumps. they itch for the night and then usually go away by the next day. I hope this isnt permanant and wondering if anyone had an idea to what it was ?

Probably just a heat rash. Stay hydrated with lots of water and lotion after tanning.

I would ask the people that run the tanning salon. I know there are different strength beds. A wolfe bed is very strong but there are also sunlight beds. If you talk to them and try hydrating, see if it works. If not then yes, I'd stop.

My daugther runs a tanning salon,  ask the people what they clean the beds with.  it might be something they are using.  or they may not clean them very well either.  it doesnt hurt to ask good luck..

Nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions.

This could be due to tanning, eczema, dermatitis, fungal or bacterial infection, etc.

There are several side effects associated with tanning -

'Sunburn, also called erythema, is one of the most obvious signs of UV exposure and skin damage. Often marked by redness and peeling (usually after a few days), sunburn is a form of short-term skin damage.'

'Sun tan - The increase in skin pigment, called melanin, which causes the tan color change in your skin is a sign of damage.'

'Sometimes referred to as “photoaging,” premature aging is the result of unprotected UV exposure. It takes the form of leathery, wrinkled skin, and dark spots.'

'There are two main types of skin cancer:Melanoma, Non-melanoma'

'Actinic or solar keratoses, is a concern because it can progress into cancer. Actinic keratoses are considered the earliest stage in the development of skin cancer, and are caused by long-term exposure to sunlight. They are the most common pre-malignant skin condition.'

'Photokeratitis can be thought of as a sunburn of the cornea. It is caused by intense UVC/UVB exposure of the eye. Photokeratitis is also called “snow blindness” because many people develop this condition at high altitudes in a snowy environment where the reflections of UVB are high. This condition can also be produced by exposure to intense artificial sources of UVC/UVB, like broken mercury vapor lamps, or certain types of tanning lamps.'
