Large Lump in Throat

I have developed a large lump in my throat right behind my tongue, but where my right tonsil is.  This lump is about the size of a ping-pong ball and makes it very hard for me to swallow and breath and makes my voice sound funny.  I have a doctor's appointment but they couldn't see me for a month.  Any ideas what it my be?  It doesn't hurt, it's hard, it's red and it is only uncomfortable because of the breathing thing.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Hi,
could be a polyp
this can be determined by a GI
doctor. He/she will do an egd  which is a scope down the
throat= the polyp is removed and a biopsy is done on the polyp
most people however get these in the inside of the throat or down the esophagus and also in the colon---
(colonoscopy) scope up the colon/anus.
most people complain theres a lump in their throat like an adams apple
or a ball/knott the polyp can cause breathing issues and problems with eating.
Hope i have helped.
Let me know!

I would check again with your doctor.  That seems like a long time to go with this type of symptom.  I do not know what it is, but I think you should get this checked out sooner.  Good luck.
