i tested for std's when my problem began a year ago and everything was fine. my dr has never mentioned any kind of std as being a possible reason for my situation. he says that my prostate is absolutely fine and that it is the size it should be. he therefore excludes the possibilty of me having prostate cancer because everything is fine and the fact that a person of my age (27) is too young to have cancer. he also excludes prostatitis as being a possibilty. he says that what is abnormal is my psa level and that i feel healthy (along with what i have written above).
i trust my dr 100 per cent and he is the best urologist in the country, and although i did not trust him in the beginning, i now believe every word he says. i have seen him over ten times and all of his other patients are above the age of 50, so i am certain that he is determined to solve my problem.
i will test myself for stds again, although my dr did not ask me to. do you know what stds are associated to my symptoms? i have never heard of blood in the sperm and in the urine after ejaculation being related to an std. thanks again
Anyway - the doc did blood and urine tests while this was happening. The blood in the urine was an obvious result, and while I don't recall specifics of the blood work - he did tell me that there was no sign of an infection of any kind (including STD). My creatinine levels were a bit high (just barely) and whatever measure of general renal function was a bit low (also barely) but not so much that he thinks there's a problem. I lift weights regularly so he thought that the normal ranges may be a bit off for me.
The blood has stopped and a urine test as of yesterday showed no detectable trace of blood in my urine at all. My doc is still a bit baffled and wants to be safe so he's sending me for a renal tract ultrasound next week to look for anything out of the ordinary.
I'm hoping that it was a fluke acute occurance, but if anything is concluded I'll post it here.
