pain around area of past surgery

by Toladawn, May 26, 2006 12:00AM
I spent three months in the hospital due to a surgery gone wrong, this was two years ago. I almost died due to sepsis and gangrene in my abdomin. I woke up to my stomache being laid open with my insides exposed. I am lucky to be alive, and very thankful. My problem is that lately I have been having a lot of pain in the area of the surgeries (4 in all) and on top of that I have a fever everyday of 100 to 101. I am scared to death of any kind of hospitalization and now I have no health insurance. Should I be concerned about the pain or could it just be something that will exist the rest of my life?

it sounds like scare tissue has built up in that area making it very painful......and believe me it can be painful.  You may need to calm down just a bit and stay calm----afterall you have a sweet little bab y who needs you---and even though they are young they can stuill since when something is not right.  It will be hard, but try to focus on your child, your family, friends, job etc----just enough time to get you in to see the doctor.  I have to saty busy so that it keeps my mind off my medical problems.  Maybe it can work for you-----don't think the worst of your condition until are face to face with your docor and he tells you what is going on

Sincerely

What all did you go through with your infection and hospitolization?  My mom had a surgery that went wrong and she became septic.  She is now on a pressure controlled ventilator due to the ARDS caused by the septis.
Any input would be helpful
